Visa
U.S. citizens holding an ordinary (tourist) passport do not need a visa to visit Türkiye for tourism or business for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. For longer stays or other purposes (study, work, residence), a visa must be obtained before departure via the official website https://www.visa.gov.tr. Holders of official, service or diplomatic U.S. passports must obtain a visa before traveling. Travelers of other nationalities should check the requirements applicable to their passport on the official website only: https://www.evisa.gov.tr .
Identity
U.S. citizens traveling individually or in a group must hold a U.S. passport valid for at least 150 days beyond the date of arrival in Türkiye; we recommend at least six months of validity remaining. The passport should have at least one blank page for entry and exit stamps. Entry will be refused with a passport that has been reported lost or stolen. Minors must hold their own valid passport.
It is also recommended to make copies of all travel documents in the event of an emergency.
