If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.
Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.

In order to best organise your time in the airport, we advise that you arrive 2 hours before boarding for a medium-haul flight, or 3 hours before boarding for a long-haul flight (more than 5 hours). Take advantage of your early arrival to pass through security and check your luggage.

Formalities

U.S. passport holders travelling to South Africa for tourism purposes must hold a passport valid for at least 30 days beyond the intended date of departure from South Africa and containing at least two consecutive blank pages. South African authorities strictly enforce passport requirements, and damaged passports may result in refusal of entry.

American citizens are visa-exempt for tourist travel to South Africa. Upon arrival, a stay of up to 90 days is generally granted. The exact length of stay is determined by the immigration officer at the port of entry and may be shorter depending on individual circumstances. Any extension of stay must be applied for before the initial authorization expires through the South African Department of Home Affairs. Upon entry into South Africa, travelers may be required to present proof of onward or return travel, evidence of accommodation for part or all of the stay, and proof of sufficient financial means. Immigration authorities may conduct identity checks and additional verifications and reserve the right to deny entry if admission requirements are not fully met.

No vaccinations are mandatory for travelers arriving directly from the United States. However, a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travelers aged one year and over arriving from, or transiting for more than 12 hours through, countries with a risk of yellow fever transmission.
