Stop at the famous Tanah Lot temple, undoubtedly the most photographed on the island. This Hindu temple is located on a small rocky island off Bali's west coast. The island is accessible at low tide via a path that emerges from the ocean. Highly sacred to the Balinese, the temple attracts many devotees and visitors.
Continue northwest with a visit to the Mengwi temple, also known as Pura Taman Ayun. Built in the early 17th century by the King of Mengwi, its architecture symbolises the different levels of Balinese cosmology. Surrounded by moats and pretty gardens, the elegant multi-tiered merus are one of the features of the Taman Ayun temple.
Then head towards the Jatiluwih rice terraces located at the foot of Mount Batukaru. These magnificent terraced rice fields stretch as far as the eye can see and are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walk along the rice fields on a footpath where you can interact with local farmers and learn more about rice planting and harvesting methods.
Lunch will be served in a local restaurant facing the rice fields.
