Day 1 | Arrival in Tokyo
When you arrive at Tokyo Airport, someone will meet you and take you to your hotel. You can enjoy lunch and dinner at your leisure. You will then spend the night in Tokyo.
Day 2 | Guided tour of Tokyo

Today's schedule: A guided tour of the city.
Visit the Meiji-jingu Shrine, a green oasis in the heart of the capital where time seems to stand still. Then discover the vibrant pop culture of Tokyo in Harajuku, famous for its Takeshita and Omotesando streets. Then head to the retro district of Asakusa, which is famous for its small shops, but most of all for Senso-ji, Tokyo's oldest Buddhist temple. Quite the impressive sight, with its giant paper lantern and bright colours. Finally, immerse yourself in geek culture in Akihabara, a paradise for manga, anime and video game fans.

Our suggested visits: After a guided tour full of discoveries, set off to explore the hipster district of Shimokitazawa. Enjoy the artistic atmosphere, vintage shops, independent cafés and underground theatres. Then don't forget to pay a visit to the famous Shinjuku Gyoen garden to enjoy a green oasis in the city centre.

Day 3 | Off to Nikko

Enjoy a quintessentially Japanese experience with an overnight stay in a ryokan: after a delicious kaiseki meal, make the most of this off-the-beaten-track escape to unwind in the property’s indoor and outdoor hot springs, known as onsen.
Our suggested visits: visit the Toshogu Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its intricate architecture and magnificent carvings. Stroll through the peaceful gardens and soak up the spiritual atmosphere of this iconic place. Continue to Lake Chuzenji, nestled in the heart of the mountains, and relax while taking in the picturesque views. Round off the day with a visit to the sublime Kegon Falls, among the highest waterfalls in Japan.
Overnight in Nikko in a traditional Japanese inn with kaiseki dinner and onsen.
Day 4 | Nikko then return to Tokyo

Suggested visits: Explore Rinnô-ji Temple and its 15 beautifully decorated pavilions. Here you can see three impressive Buddha statues, each representing one of Nikko’s sacred mountains. Then head to Toshogu Shrine, which houses the tomb of the former warlord Tokugawa Ieyasu. This shrine offers an unusual walking route through the heart of the forest. Continue on to the Edo Wonderland theme park, where entertainment and history come together.

Day 5 | Immersion in Tokyo

Visit to Tokyo Tower: Soar above the city with an unforgettable excursion to Tokyo Tower. Elegant and iconic, this red-and-white landmark offers breathtaking views over Tokyo. Our sightseeing suggestions: set off to discover the artificial island of Odaiba and its many attractions. Dive into the fun at Palette Town, with its shops and family-friendly entertainment. Do not miss its Chinatown, the largest in Japan, for an unforgettable culinary experience. For something more playful, create your own ramen box at the Cup Noodles Museum.

Day 7 | Tea ceremony in Tokyo

Our sightseeing suggestions: Take the train and set off to discover the former capital of Kamakura on the outskirts of Tokyo. Soak up its history-steeped atmosphere as you explore its ancient temples, admire the majestic Great Buddha and wander through its charming streets. This excursion offers a truly authentic seaside experience. Continue on to Naoshima, an enchanting island in the Seto Inland Sea. Visit the Chichu Art Museum, seek out the art installations scattered across the island and explore the traditional village of Honmura.

Day 9 | Final full day in Tokyo

Our sightseeing suggestions: Discover the historic charm of Kawagoe by train from Tokyo. Nicknamed “Little Edo”, this well-preserved town offers a journey back to old Japan. Stroll through the Kurazukuri district with its traditional warehouses, explore the Toki no Kane shopping street and visit Kitain Shrine. Finish with a peaceful break in Kawagoe Memorial Park.

Day 10 | End of the stay – departure from Tokyo
Breakfast at the hotel. At the appropriate time, transfer by shared shuttle to Tokyo Airport.

Your board
During this tour, breakfast is included from day 2 to day 10, as well as half board on the night you spend at a ryokan in Nikko.
Please note that if you depart early on the last day, outside of the hotel restaurant's opening hours, the establishment cannot provide breakfast and it will therefore be at your own expense.

The order of the itinerary and program may be modified depending on local constraints at the destination.
Check-in generally takes place in mid-afternoon (3:00–4:00 p.m.). Check-out generally takes place in the morning (10:00 a.m.).
City tax is not included and must be paid on site. Approximate amount payable at this time for reference: 3* hotel = €2 per room per night.
Any specific request regarding bedding type (double bed, twin beds) is subject to availability and may incur an additional charge.
Note: In Japan, hotel rooms are often quite small and beds may be smaller in size.
The accommodations included in this trip are not suitable for persons with reduced mobility or for infants (0 to 1.99 years old).
Accommodation in a ryokan (Nikko): Access to shared onsen areas (Japanese hot springs) is generally prohibited for guests with tattoos.
MEALS
Breakfast package: If, due to airline schedules, the first and last days are shortened by a late arrival or early departure, no meal reimbursement will be provided.
Depending on the timing constraints of excursions or local transportation (train, bus, transfer, ferry, etc.), meals that cannot be taken at the hotel will be at the clients’ expense.
TRANSPORT
AIRPORT–HOTEL TRANSFER BY SHARED SHUTTLE: The shared shuttle takes you directly from the airport to your hotel and vice versa. The shuttle may make several stops along the way.
RAIL TRANSPORT: In Japan, the train is the most convenient way to travel. Both major cities and villages are well connected; the Japanese rail network is diverse and highly efficient. It offers the opportunity to travel on the famous Shinkansen, Japan’s high-speed train, reaching speeds of up to 320 km/h.
