Cappadocia Tour 4*

Discover the geological wonders of Cappadocia on this three-day tour package.

The itinerary includes the spectacular open-air museum in Goreme, the distinctive lunar landscape of the rock formations in Devrent Valley, and the highest point of Cappadocia, Uchisar rock castle, which offers panoramic views of the valleys below.

The tour will also take you to the Underground Cities and Pigeon Valley, where you will find thousands of pigeon houses carved into the soft tufa rock since ancient times.

Your detailed itinerary

Day 1 | Istanbul – Cappadocia

Meet with your driver at the lobby of your hotel in Istanbul and drive to the Airport for your domestic flight to Kayseri.

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your driver and transferred to Cappadocia. The tour begins with a visit to the Göreme Museum, which features numerous rock-cut churches from the second half of the 9th century, adorned with exquisite colourful frescoes.

Next, we will visit Devrent Valley, renowned for its distinctive rock formations that bear an animal-like resemblance. The valley's distinctive rock formations, shaped by natural erosion, resemble a sculptured zoo.

Of particular interest is a rock pillar that resembles the Virgin Mary, holding Jesus Christ.

The valley's distinctive lunar landscape offers a unique experience, transporting visitors to an otherworldly setting.

Following this, we will proceed to the Pacha's vineyard, also known as Pasabagi.

This site is also known as Monks Valley due to the hermitage of Simeon monks that once stood here.

The tour will then continue to Avanos, where guests will have the opportunity to partake in a traditional Turkish lunch and a pottery-making experience with local experts.

The tour will then move on to Goreme Panorama, renowned for its spectacular panoramic vistas of the Fairy Chimneys.

The tour will conclude with a drive to Uchisar, where visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Natural highest Rock Castle, which offers a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding area. There will then be a transfer to your hotel for check-in.

Overnight in Cappadocia.

Day 2 | Cappadocia

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will meet your guide and begin your full-day tour. The itinerary includes a visit to Rose Valley, an area of Cappadocia that is renowned for its distinctive pink ridges.

Next, you will drive to Cavusin, which is surrounded by Red Valley.

The local village is distinguished by rock-hewn houses that are deeply embedded in the rock formations.

The village is renowned for its rock-hewn churches.

The next destination is Pigeon Valley, which derives its name from the numerous man-made dovecotes (pigeon houses) that have been carved into the soft volcanic tuff.

Pigeon Valley is considered to be one of the most outstanding locations for exploring the wonders of Cappadocia.

The Underground Cities, a former refuge for 15,000 Christians, are the next destination.

These settlements played a significant role in the development of Christianity, offering shelter and worship, and were in use until the end of the 7th century AD.

Witness the ancient bedrooms, church, meeting hall and food storage rooms in this eight-story city connected by 30km of corridors and passageways.

The tour continues to Ortahisar, renowned for its welcoming residents, picturesque stone houses, narrow streets lined with charming churches, and the castle-like rock formation that gives the town its name.

Day 3 | Cappadocia – Istanbul

Following breakfast at the hotel and check-out, guests are welcome to explore the city independently.

Please ensure you meet your driver at the agreed time to return to Kayseri Airport for your return flight to Istanbul.

Upon arrival at Istanbul Airport, our driver will be waiting to collect you and take you to your hotel in Istanbul (the hotel is not included).

Practical details

If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.
Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
For safety reasons, the wellbeing facilities of most establishments are not accessible to children under 16 years old. Similarly, it is possible that some amenities or services require an additional charge or are unavailable for exceptional reasons.

Travel documents

Transportation

In order to best organise your time in the airport, we advise that you arrive 2 hours before boarding for a medium-haul flight, or 3 hours before boarding for a long-haul flight (more than 5 hours). Take advantage of your early arrival to pass through security and check your luggage.
You will be informed whether or not luggage is included at the time of your booking.
You will have the opportunity to add additional luggage for a fee.
There are several different cities that are typically offered as departure points. Your arrival destination will show in your travel documents.
Depending on the flight schedule, some arrivals or returns may be made at night with early arrival or late departure. You will not always be able to have your room available immediately and will need to refer to the check-in and check-out conditions of the hotel.
In the event that your transfer is not included in your hotel reservation, it may be offered at the time of your reservation as an additional option. Unless specifically mentioned, transfers may be made in groups of 15 to 55 people.
