Day 1 | Arrival in Osaka and transfer to Kyoto
Arrival at Osaka Airport (Kansai KIX or Itami ITM). Transfer to your hotel in Kyoto by shared shuttle bus.
Time at leisure. Overnight stay in Kyoto.
Day 2 | Day at leisure in Kyoto
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure in Kyoto to visit places of interest at your own pace.
Evening at leisure and overnight stay in Kyoto.
Suggestion: The Arashiyama district in Kyoto is a must-see. Stroll through its famous bamboo grove, discover its peaceful temples and admire the natural landscapes along the Hozu River.
Day 3 | Day at leisure in Kyoto
Breakfast at the hotel. Activate your 4-day Kansai Area Pass. Evening at leisure and overnight stay in Kyoto.
Suggestion: Take a day trip to Nara. Discover the Great Buddha at Todai-ji Temple, stroll through the park with its free-roaming deer and soak up the peaceful atmosphere of this former imperial capital. From Kyoto Station, the return train journey can easily be done in a day.
Day 4 | Heading to Osaka
Breakfast at the hotel. Travel to Osaka by train using your pass. Day and evening at leisure and overnight stay in Osaka.
Day 5 | Day at leisure in Osaka
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure in Osaka to visit the sights of your choice. Overnight stay in Osaka.
Suggestion: Explore the retro neighbourhood of Shinsekai, with its famous Tsutenkaku Tower and lively atmosphere. Stroll through the bustling alleyways, discover the neon signs and sample local specialities such as kushikatsu, Osaka's famous breaded skewers.
Day 6 | Heading to Wakayama
Breakfast at the hotel. Before leaving Osaka, make sure you have exchanged your Ise Kumano Tourist Area Pass (Please note: the exchange date is different from the activation date).
Travel to Wakayama by train using your pass. Evening at leisure and overnight stay in Wakayama.
Suggestion: Visit Wakayama Castle and make a detour to Kishi Train Station, famous for its mascot cat Tama, who has become a symbol of the region and a real star of local tourism.
Day 7 | Towards the Nachi Region
Breakfast at the hotel.
Luggage transfer: Leave your luggage at the hotel reception when you check out.
Activate your 5-day Ise-Kumano-Wakayama Area Tourist Pass.
Travel to Nachi by train using your pass.
Dinner and overnight stay in Kii Katsuura or Kushimoto.
Day 8 | Discover the famous Nachi waterfall
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure. Take advantage of your pass to visit Nachi.
Dinner and overnight stay in Kii Katsuura or Kushimoto.
Suggestion : From Kii Katsuura Station, use your pass to take the local bus to the world-famous Nachi Waterfall. Please allow 25 minutes for the bus ride, or about 1 hour for a round trip. Please note, however, that bus service is subject to weather conditions.
Day 9 | Towards the Mie Region
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure.
Take advantage of your pass to visit Kumano Hongu Taisha. Travel to Ise by train using your pass (luggage transfer: collect your luggage at reception when you check in). Overnight stay in Ise or Futaminoura.
Suggestion: From Shingu Station, use your pass to take the local bus to the famous Kumano Hongu Taisha, the final destination of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage. Please allow 1 hour for the bus journey, or approximately 2 hours for a round trip. Please note, however, that bus services are subject to weather conditions.
Day 10 | Exploring the Mie Region
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure.
Evening at leisure and overnight stay in Ise or Futaminoura.
Suggestion: Use your pass to take the train to Ise Jingū Shrine, Japan's most sacred shrine dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu. Soak up the serenity of its sacred forests, then stroll through the traditional Okage Yokocho district before taking a peaceful break by the Isuzu River.
Day 11 | The Pearls of Toba then Nagoya
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure. Use your pass to take the train to Toba.
Included activity: Admission ticket to the Mikimoto Pearl Museum in Toba. Famous for its pearl farming and seascapes, Toba invites you to discover the tradition of the ama, female free divers who have been harvesting shellfish and pearls for centuries.
Return to Ise, collect your luggage from the hotel and then travel to Nagoya by train using your pass. Overnight stay in Nagoya.
Day 12 | Nagoya then heading to Tokyo
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure.
Travel to Tokyo by train using your Shinkansen ticket. Overnight stay in Tokyo.
Suggestion: Nagoya has something for everyone! For an urban atmosphere, head to the Sakae and Osu districts. For a taste of tradition, don't miss Nagoya Castle, Atsuta Shrine or Kosho-ji Temple. And for those who love theme parks, have fun at Ghibli Park or Legoland!
Day 13 | Tokyo : Exploring the Capital
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight stay in Tokyo.
Suggestion: Discover Akihabara, the mecca of Japanese manga and anime culture, with its electronics shops, arcades and themed cafés. Stroll through its bustling streets and immerse yourself in Tokyo's pop and technological universe.
Day 14 | Tokyo
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight stay in Tokyo.
Suggestion: Would you like to see the famous Mount Fuji? You can take the train (additional charge) from Shinjuku Station in Tokyo to Lake Kawaguchiko to admire it. If you leave early in the morning, you can easily make the round trip by train or bus in a day.
Day 15 | Departure from Tokyo
Breakfast at the hotel. Shared shuttle transfer from your hotel to Tokyo Airport (Haneda HND or Narita NRT) for your return flight.

ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation capacities:
Single room: 1 adult
Double/twin room: 2 adults or 1 adult + 1 child
Age of children: 2–11 years
Infants are not permitted.
Accommodation is based on double occupancy (the type of bed – double or twin – cannot be guaranteed).
Single rooms are available at an additional cost. Any specific requests regarding the type of bed (double bed/separate beds) as well as any other requests and special conditions regarding accommodation are subject to availability and may incur an additional charge.
Check-in is usually in the middle of the afternoon (3 p.m.- 4 p.m.).
In Japan, hotel rooms are often quite small and beds are small.
The accommodation included is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
Please note that accommodation in a ryokan is traditional and authentic, and often only offers shared bathrooms and toilets, where tattoos are not always permitted.
Please note that some hotels offer an eco-stay package. (Bed linen and room cleaning are provided approximately every 3 days, depending on the establishment.)
For technical reasons, hotels may be replaced by similar accommodation and the order of stops may be reversed.
IMPORTANT:
If, due to schedules imposed by airlines, the first and last days are shortened by a late arrival or early departure, no refunds will be given.
Similarly, any meals included in the board package that cannot be taken due to these schedules will not be refunded.
Also, depending on the schedules of any optional extras and excursions, meals that cannot be taken at the hotel will be at the customers' expense.
TRANSPORT
This trip is not guided. Travel and visits are done independently.
Shuttle transfer from Kansai (KIX) or Itami (ITM) airport to Kyoto hotel and transfer from Tokyo hotel to Tokyo airport (HND or NRT): by shared shuttle. The shuttle will drop you off in front of your hotel and may make several stops along the way. For the return transfer, the shuttle will drop you off at the airport and may make several stops along the way.
One piece of luggage per person is included; if you have additional luggage, please contact us before your departure.
In Kyoto and Osaka, this service is subject to arrival at Kansai (KIX) or Itami (ITM) airport between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. Outside these hours, a supplement for a private transfer may be offered. If you arrive at Kobe Airport (UKB), you will be responsible for your own transfers.
Ise-Kumano-Wakayama Area Tourist Pass for 5 days: This pass gives you unlimited access for 5 days to the various trains on the JR rail system connecting Osaka and Nagoya. It also gives you access to certain Nankai Bus and Mie Kotsu Bus routes, allowing you to easily reach the region's iconic sites: Nachi, the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, the Ise Jingu shrines and the coastal town of Toba.
Luggage transfer between Wakayama and the Mie region: Take advantage of luggage transfer to make your trip easier: your luggage will be collected from your hotel in Wakayama early in the morning and transferred to your hotel in Ise so that you don't have to carry it with you during the journey from Wakayama to the Nachi region and the Mie region. You will therefore need to bring a small bag for your two nights in the Nachi region.
Kansai Area Pass 4 days: This pass gives you unlimited access for 4 days to the various trains of the JR railway system in the Kansai region, as well as JR buses. It also gives you one day's access to certain Keihan, Hankyu and Kyoto underground lines.
Train from Nagoya to Tokyo: In Japan, the train is undoubtedly one of the best ways to get around quickly and easily. Nagoya is about 1 hour and 40 minutes from Tokyo. Please note that train schedules will be provided in your travel booklet.
