Begin your journey in Havana, a historic, cultural and majestic city. Then head to Viñales, home to some of the world's finest tobacco, before exploring Cienfuegos, known as the 'Pearl of the South', and Trinidad, one of Cuba's most beautiful and authentic colonial cities. End your trip in Varadero, where you can enjoy the sun and heavenly beaches.

The seaside trip extension can be tailored to suit your tastes, with different lengths of stay available.

Day 1 - Arrival in Havana

Arrival at Havana airport and welcome by your representative at the airport, followed by a group transfer to your hotel.

Overnight at the hotel on a breakfast-only option.

Day 2 - Havana

Breakfast and welcome at the hotel by your representative.

Walking tour of Old Havana to discover all its charms. You will be accompanied by a guide for 2 hours.

Then board a vintage American car from the 1950s to experience the ‘soul of Cuba’. Panoramic tour of the modern city. You'll discover the unique and playful charm of a drive through the modern part of the city.

Day 3 - Havana

Breakfast.

Free day to stroll at your own pace and discover Havana as you please.

Pick up your hire car at the agreed time.

Day 4 - Havana - Viñales (approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes by road)

Drive out to the Viñales valley. En route, stop off at Las Terrazas, designated a biosphere reserve thanks to its exuberant vegetation and an ideal spot for ecotourism.

Discover Viñales, a small picturesque village with colourful streets.

Check-in at the hotel for 2 nights, breakfast included.

Day 5 - Viñales

Explore the Viñales valley at your leisure, dotted with ‘mogotes’, strange geological formations, and tobacco plantations. Possibility of walking and horse-riding.

Day 6 - Viñales to Cienfuegos (approximately 6 hours by road)

Breakfast and departure for the splendid and elegant town of Cienfuegos, the Pearl of the South, founded in 1819 by the Frenchman Louis Le Clouet.

Take a leisurely tour of the city, situated on the shores of the immense Bay of Jagua. Cienfuegos is a magnificent maritime city rich in monuments, palaces and colonnaded mansions.

Hotel: 4-star La Union Affiliated by Melia (or similar)

Day 7 - Cienfuegos - Trinidad (approximately 1 hour drive)

Breakfast.

Take time to stroll through the streets of Cienfuegos before leaving for Trinidad or don't miss the opportunity to visit El Nicho National Park, famous for its beautiful waterfalls.

Founded in 1514 by Diego Velázquez, Trinidad is a magnificent city, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It was built during the 18th century on the back of the sugar and sugar cane boom. Trinidad is an open-air museum and a journey through time. Its well-preserved colonial architecture, colourful houses with tiled roofs, and cobbled streets are a real delight. With its ochre, blue, green and pink-tinted stonework and backdrop of the lush Sierra del Escambray mountains, this small town is sure to charm you.

Day 8 - Trinidad

Breakfast at the hotel.

Explore the city at your leisure. On foot, stroll through the streets and squares, taking in the sights and sounds of the museums that bear precious witness to history: the Plaza Mayor, the Iglesia Parroquial de Santisama Trinidad, the 5-nave church, the Plaza de Jigüe, the Ermita de la Popa, the Plaza Santa Ana and the craft market. We recommend taking a break at the Canchánchara tavern, one of the oldest buildings in the city!

Day 9 - Trinidad - Santa Clara - Varadero (approximately 4 hours by road)

Breakfast.

Departure for the Varadero peninsula , with its 20 km of beaches, crystal blue waters and white sand. Passing through Santa Clara is an opportunity to visit the Che Mausoleum and its famous armoured train.

Return your hire car on arrival.

Check-in at the hotel on an all-inclusive basis for 2 nights.

Days 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 - Varadero

Make the most of your days here to enjoy the superb beach and the activities on offer at the hotel.

Day 11, 12, 13, 14 or 15 - Varadero - Havana Airport

On the last day, depending on your flight schedule, free time and group transfer to the airport for your return flight.

Please note that your departure flight must take off after 4 p.m. to ensure a comfortable return.

During your stay, you will be accommodated as follows:

  • Havana: 3 nights at the 4-star Valentin Quinta Avenida Habana Hotel (or similar)
  • Viñales: 2 nights at the 4-star Los Jazmnines Hotel (or similar)
  • Cienfuegos: 1 night at the 4-star La Union Affiliated by Melia Hotel (or similar)
  • Trinidad: 2 nights at the 4-star E La Ronda Hotel (or similar)
  • Varadero: 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 nights, depending on length of stay, at the 5-star Playa Vista Azul Hotel (or similar)

Your meals

During your stay, you will enjoy the breakfast package in Havana, Viñales, Cienfuegos, and Trinidad, followed by the all-inclusive package in Varadero.

Car hire

Your stay includes the hire of a car in the Economy Car Mechanical category from day 3 to day 9.

For example, you could be offered one of the Hyundai Grand i10 T/M 4P AA models. The category is confirmed, but not the car model.

Terms and conditions:

  • Minimum age: 21 years.
  • Must have held a driving licence for at least 2 years.
  • Present a passport and a national and/or international driving licence.

Fuel:

  • The vehicle is delivered with a full tank.
  • Consumption is paid for on the last day upon return to the VIA office at your hotel in Varadero (maximum US$56).

To be paid locally:

  • Additional driver (if requested): US$30.

If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.
Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
For safety reasons, the wellbeing facilities of most establishments are not accessible to children under 16 years old. Similarly, it is possible that some amenities or services require an additional charge or are unavailable for exceptional reasons.
Unless otherwise stated in the service description, activities and any additional services available at destination are provided in the language of the destination country and in English.

Travel documents

Once your reservation has been made, you will receive a confirmation e-mail before your travel documents are sent.
Regarding the transport documents (in the case of a reservation with transport included), we will provide you with all the information relating to check-in and luggage in the "Your travel documents" email, allowing you to leave with peace of mind.
To take advantage of all your reserved services (hotels, transfers, activities, etc.), you will receive one or more exchange vouchers to be presented to each supplier.
The contact details of the establishment will be specified in these documents, to help make your arrival at your destination as straight-forward as possible.

Transportation

Choose an offer and, according to your preferences, opt for a seat in economy, business or first class.

In order to best organise your time in the airport, we advise that you arrive 2 hours before boarding for a medium-haul flight, or 3 hours before boarding for a long-haul flight (more than 5 hours). Take advantage of your early arrival to pass through security and check your luggage.
You will be informed whether or not luggage is included at the time of your booking.
You will have the opportunity to add additional luggage for a fee.
There are several different cities that are typically offered as departure points. Your arrival destination will show in your travel documents.
Depending on the flight schedule, some arrivals or returns may be made at night with early arrival or late departure. You will not always be able to have your room available immediately and will need to refer to the check-in and check-out conditions of the hotel.
In the event that your transfer is not included in your hotel reservation, it may be offered at the time of your reservation as an additional option. Unless specifically mentioned, transfers may be made in groups of 15 to 55 people.
