Day 1: Arrival Denpasar - Legian

Your detailed itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN DENPASAR - LEGIAN (10KM - 1 HR)
On arrival at Bali airport, you'll be met by your local guide and transferred directly to your accommodation in Legian. Check in and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

DAY 2: LEGIAN - UBUD (52KM - 6 HRS)
Breakfast at the hotel, then departure. Head to the temple of Tanah Lot, Bali's most photographed temple. The temple of Tanah Lot, located on a huge rock surrounded by the sea, is the ideal beach to relax on and a great place to watch the sunset (weather permitting). This temple was built in the 16th century by the Javanese priest Danghyang Nirartha. Set off to Ubud to check into your hotel.

DAY 3: UBUD (83KM - 7 HRS)
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to the village of Batubulan to watch the Barong and Kris dance show. Then visit the arts and crafts villages of Celuk, Batuan, Mas and Ubud, to witness goldsmithing, hand-weaving, woodcarving and painting. Visit Ubud's Monkey Forest, then Tampak Siring to see the temple of blessed spring water Tirta Empul. Then admire the magnificent panorama of the still active volcano Batur and Lake Batur. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Kintamani. Return to Ubud, passing the terraced rice fields of Tegallalang.

DAY 4: UBUD (89KM - 7 HRS)
Following breakfast, visit the village of Penglipuran, which boasts a quintessential countryside setting, a distinctive way of life, and a rich cultural heritage. The next destination will be Besakih, renowned as Bali's "mother temple". This complex comprises 30 temples, meticulously arranged on seven levels of terraces along the mountainside. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
Then, in the late afternoon, descend to the temple of Goa Lawah (bat cave) where thousands of bats hang on the edge of the cave.

DAY 5: UBUD (120 KM - 7 HRS)
After breakfast at the hotel, start a guided tour at 9 a.m., visiting the magnificent Taman Ayun Temple dating back to the Mengwi royal dynasty. Continue on to Bedugul, on the shores of Lake Beratan, where you can enjoy the fresh mountain breeze and a breathtaking view of the Ulun Danu Temple. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant.
Then stop off at the local market selling fresh fruit and vegetables, and visit the magnificent terraced rice fields of Jatiluwih. Then visit Pura Luhur Batuku on the slopes of Gunung Batukaru.

DAY 6: UBUD
Breakfast at the hotel. Free day.

DAY 7: UBUD - DEPARTURE FROM DENPASAR (40KM - 3 HRS)
Breakfast at your hotel, followed by free time to spend at your leisure until your departure time. Transfer to the airport for your return flight.

Legian: 1 night at the 4-star Solia Legian (or similar)
Ubud: 5 nights at the 4-star Ubud Wana Resort (or similar)

Things to know
- As indicated, the hotels are classified as 4-star, according to local standards. The services provided may not be equivalent to European 4-star standards.
- Comfortable, lightweight clothing is recommended when travelling in Indonesia. Visitors must not wear sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or skimpy clothing when visiting temples, religious, or official buildings.
- Shoes must be removed before entering a temple or private home.
- Sun protection, sunglasses, a hat, and mosquito repellent will come in very handy during your stay.
