Reception at the airport in Bogota, the Andean capital, and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 | Bogotá

Departure from your hotel for the Paloquemao fruit and vegetable market. Discover typical Colombia as you stroll through this retail market, one of the largest in the country. Most of the country's catering professionals buy their produce here, which is why it's constantly bustling with activity. You'll find all kinds of fruit and vegetables, from the best-known to the most original. With the guide, you'll enjoy a tasting of local fruits. Return to your hotel at the end of the tour.

Day 3 | Bogota - Zipaquirá - Ráquira - Villa de Leyva

Private transport will take you from Bogota to Villa de Leyva, a charming colonial village. You'll make a stop in Raquira and Zipaquira to visit the Salt Cathedral.

Duration of journey: approx. 4 hours.

Day 4 | Villa de Leyva

With your guide, discover the main sites of interest around Villa de Leyva. The El Fossil Museum, where you can admire a 120-million-year-old Kronosaurus fossil, proof that long ago there was an ocean as far as the eye could see where this place used to be. The Archaeological Park will teach you about the beliefs of ancient peoples with its Muisca calendar of monoliths, and the massive Monastery of Santo Ecce Homo will invite you to enjoy the calm and beauty of its architecture.

Day 5 | Villa de Leyva - Barichara

Private transport from Villa de Leyva to Barichara along the Andes route.

Duration of journey: approx. 4 hours.

Guided tour of the town of Barichara, located at 1340m altitude. Many artists and craftsmen have made their home in this haven of peace, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Stroll along its cobbled streets, churches and parks, and enjoy the view of the Suárez Canyon. The tour ends with a visit to one of the region's craftsmen's workshops: painting, paper, sculpture or tobacco, depending on your interests.

Day 6 | Barichara - Guane - Barichara

Following an ancient path, El Camino Real (the royal path of Spanish colonization), you will descend with a guide, to the small village of Guane where life seems to be cradled by an ancestral rhythm. Its whitewashed cob houses, stone streets and small archaeological museum will take you back in time.

Visit to the archaeological museum (closed Mondays and Saturdays) and return to Barichara.

Walking time: 3h.

Day 7 | Barichara - Barrancabermeja

A car will take you from Barichara to Barrancabermeja.

Duration: approx. 5h30.

Day 8 | Barrancabermeja - El Banco - Mompox

A chalupa will take you from Barrancabermeja to El Banco.

Duration of journey: approx. 6 hours.

Note: This typical transport service saves you a long car journey or the cost of a plane ticket. Transport conditions are basic (notably limited space). It is advisable to bring a jacket for the wind on the boat and a waterproof jacket.

A car will take you from El Banco to Mompox.

Day 9 | Cienaga Pijiño - Mompox

Today, after a free morning, an exploration of picturesque landscapes teeming with birds and reptiles by traditional boat is planned.

Boat trip on the Magdalena River with a guide. Discovery of the Pijiño marshes, swimming and observation of the flora and fauna. The sunset is a magical moment. Return to Mompox in the late afternoon.

Day 10 | Mompox - Cartagena

A car will take you from Mompox to Cartagena. You will make a stop at San Jacinto.

If you like authentic destinations off the beaten track, then this excursion is for you. Afternoon departure from your hotel for Boquilla. Upon arrival at the village, you'll enjoy a canoe trip, with a guide, through the mangroves to watch the birds at sunset. The tranquil landscape is ideal for relaxing and enjoying an evening close to nature. Return to Cartagena around 7:00 pm.

Transport: 20 min - Duration: 3h.

Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults.
