Nature Getaway in Quebec 3*

Discover Québec at your own pace on a 7-night self-drive tour combining vibrant city life with unspoilt wilderness.

The journey begins in Montréal, a cosmopolitan city with a unique charm, before continuing to Saint-Alexis-des-Monts for an immersive experience in the heart of Québec’s natural landscape. Stay at a traditional wilderness lodge, surrounded by forests and lakes, and enjoy seasonal outdoor activities such as canoeing, hiking, fishing, snowshoeing or dog sledding.

Continue to Québec City, where Old Québec’s narrow streets, historic fortifications and welcoming atmosphere offer a fascinating journey back in time. Return to Montréal to bring this adventure to a close.

An ideal itinerary combining freedom, nature and cultural discoveries.

Day-by-day itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Montréal (collect the vehicle at the airport)

Day 2: Montréal

Days 3, 4 and 5: Nature stay in Saint-Alexis-des-Monts

Days 6 and 7: Québec City

Day 8: Departure from Montréal (return the vehicle at the airport)

PLEASE NOTE: As this itinerary includes a three-night stay in the heart of nature, it is recommended for the winter and summer seasons. Spring and autumn are less suitable, as many seasonal activities are unavailable at these times.

Your detailed itinerary

Arrival in Montréal and collection of the hire car at the airport.

Montréal is the world’s second-largest French-speaking city after Paris: a city of contrasts, with its historic Old Port and modern city centre. Explore the historic district of Old Montréal, named Ville-Marie by the first settlers and the city’s most charming area. Highlights include the famous Place Jacques-Cartier and the magnificent City Hall.

Continue to the city centre and do not miss the Place Ville Marie Observatory, offering unique views of the city from 185 metres above ground. Discover another of Montréal’s distinctive features: an underground network of cafés, restaurants and shops.

No meals included. Overnight in Montréal.

Two other districts are particularly recommended: the Latin Quarter and Mount Royal, home to Saint Joseph’s Oratory and a magnificent 200-hectare urban park.

If time permits, we recommend visiting the Olympic Park, where you can explore the Botanical Garden, the Biodome, the Olympic Stadium or the Insectarium.

No meals included. Overnight stay in Montreal.

Experience the true spirit of Quebec’s natural world by staying at a traditional outfitter’s lodge. Tucked away in the heart of the wilderness, these lodges offer a peaceful retreat surrounded by forests, lakes and wildlife. Enjoy outdoor activities such as canoeing, fishing or hiking in summer, or snowshoeing, dog sledding and other winter activities during the snowy season. In the evening, gather round a campfire and savour hearty, traditional Quebec meals. This is a unique opportunity to switch off and immerse yourself in the gentle rhythm of nature, far from the hustle and bustle of city life.

No meals included. Overnight stays in Saint-Alexis-des-Monts.

The city of Québec is the capital of the province of Québec and Canada’s oldest city. Behind its high stone walls, admire the star-shaped citadel and the impressive fortifications. Stop off at the Parliament Building before exploring the Old Port, Place Royale and Petit-Champlain. Lunch or dinner at a traditional sugar shack is highly recommended. There, you’ll discover the traditional art of making maple syrup, before enjoying a delicious meal!

Do not miss the spectacular Montmorency Falls, a natural wonder higher than Niagara Falls. Those with a head for heights can even cross the falls by zip line for a truly unforgettable experience.

No meals included. Overnight stays in Québec City.

Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some free time before travelling to Montréal Airport. Return your hire car at the airport. This marks the end of your stay in Canada.
