DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN MOMBASA

After arriving at Mombasa Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

DAY 2: MOMBASA – TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, you will set off on a private jeep safari through the Tsavo savannah, accompanied by an English-speaking guide and driver. You will have lunch at the lodge and then, after a short rest, set off on a second safari until sunset.

DAY 3: TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK

You will spend the day on a private safari in Tsavo East National Reserve. Take in the beauty of Kenya's landscapes and observe majestic animals in their natural habitat.

DAY 4: TSAVO EAST – WATAMU

You will set off on a safari early in the morning to enjoy the first rays of sunshine. After breakfast, you will head to Watamu Beach. Once you arrive, you will have the afternoon free.

DAY 5 TO DAY 7: BEACH EXTENSION IN WATAMU BEACH

Make the most of this seaside trip extension to relax and enjoy the beach and sunshine. You will have free access to all of the hotel's facilities, including the swimming pool, which boasts sea views and direct beach access. Excursions are available to purchase separately.

DAY 8: WATAMU BEACH – MOMBASA – RETURN FLIGHT

After you have checked out of the hotel, you will be transferred to Mombasa Airport for your return flight.

USEFUL INFORMATION

  • Arrival day and welcome: When you exit the plane, you will pass through immigration, where your visa will be checked. Then, you will collect your luggage. A local representative from the SawaSawa Africa agency will be waiting for you outside, wearing a uniform and holding a sign with your name on it.
  • Hotel-only package: for those booking the ‘hotel-only’ package (without international flights), please send us your flight details as soon as possible using the contact form located in ‘Help and Contact’ at the bottom of the page, so that we can organise your transfers. Flights must arrive before noon on day 1 and depart after 6 p.m. on day 7 so that you can enjoy all the services included in the tour.
  • Please note: as indicated, all accommodations are classified as 5-star according to local standards. The services provided may not be equivalent to 5-star standards in the UK.
  • The order of visits may be changed due to logistical reasons.
  • Visa: All travellers to Kenya must have an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) before entering the territory of the Republic of Kenya (including minors).
  • No traveller can be accepted into Kenya without a visa or ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation).
  • The ETA will be issued within 3 days or 72 hours, but this may be shorter for nationals who were previously exempt.
  • Visas previously issued through the E-visa platform will still be honoured.
  • East African nationals will be exempt from the ETA requirement.
  • Children under the age of 16 who were previously exempt from the visa requirement will now need to apply for an ETA.

Practical details

If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.
Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
For safety reasons, the wellbeing facilities of most establishments are not accessible to children under 16 years old. Similarly, it is possible that some amenities or services require an additional charge or are unavailable for exceptional reasons.
Unless otherwise stated in the service description, activities and any additional services available at destination are provided in the language of the destination country and in English.

Travel documents

Once your reservation has been made, you will receive a confirmation e-mail before your travel documents are sent.
Regarding the transport documents (in the case of a reservation with transport included), we will provide you with all the information relating to check-in and luggage in the "Your travel documents" email, allowing you to leave with peace of mind.

Transportation

In order to best organise your time in the airport, we advise that you arrive 2 hours before boarding for a medium-haul flight, or 3 hours before boarding for a long-haul flight (more than 5 hours). Take advantage of your early arrival to pass through security and check your luggage.
You will be informed whether or not luggage is included at the time of your booking.
You will have the opportunity to add additional luggage for a fee.
There are several different cities that are typically offered as departure points. Your arrival destination will show in your travel documents.
Depending on the flight schedule, some arrivals or returns may be made at night with early arrival or late departure. You will not always be able to have your room available immediately and will need to refer to the check-in and check-out conditions of the hotel.
In the event that your transfer is not included in your hotel reservation, it may be offered at the time of your reservation as an additional option. Unless specifically mentioned, transfers may be made in groups of 15 to 55 people.
