Canadian citizens must hold a passport valid for the entire duration of their stay to enter Mauritius. No visa is required for Canadian nationals traveling for short-term tourism purposes. Upon arrival, Mauritian immigration authorities may grant a stay of up to 90 days, subject to presentation of a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation, and sufficient financial means.
Before departure, please complete the Mauritius All-in-One Travel Form online at https://safemauritius.govmu.org/ within 72 hours before your arrival. It generates a QR code to show on arrival.
Health restriction (Ebola): foreign travellers arriving from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda or South Sudan, or who have stayed in or transited through any of these countries in the previous 21 days, are temporarily not allowed to enter Mauritius.
Entry conditions may vary depending on the purpose and length of stay. Final admission to Mauritius is determined by immigration authorities upon arrival.
Travelers are advised to review health recommendations prior to departure. No vaccinations are mandatory for entry into Mauritius when traveling directly from Canada; however, routine vaccinations should be up to date. Travelers are encouraged to obtain travel insurance that includes medical coverage.
Travelers must comply with local laws and regulations while in Mauritius. Identity and document checks may be conducted by local authorities.
Since 1 October 2025, a tourist tax has applied to any person staying in tourist accommodation in Mauritius. This tax, amounting to EUR 3 per person per night, applies to all individuals aged 12 and above. It is to be paid on site, at the accommodation's reception.
