Your detailed itinerary
Day 1 – France – Bari – Alberobello Region
On arrival at Bari airport, collect the vehicle, then head for Bari to explore the atmospheric medieval old town, a maze of narrow streets and stairways where you will often spot women making fresh pasta outside their homes. Bari is also home to two very beautiful churches dedicated to the city’s patron saints. It is well worth taking your time in Bari.
Overnight in the Alberobello area.
Day 2 - Polignano a Mare Monopoli
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full day exploring the whitewashed towns of the Itria Valley or the Castellana Caves, just a short drive from the hotel. You can also stroll through the charming coastal town of Polignano a Mare, which offers breathtaking sea views from its many panoramic terraces. In the afternoon, discover the seaside town of Monopoli with its harbour, colourful streets and piazzas overlooking the sea. Then continue on to the Alberobello area for an overnight stay.
Day 3 - Alberobello & The Trulli
Drive to Alberobello, an unmissable stop on any trip to Puglia and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy wandering through the narrow, winding streets as you discover the trulli, those unique dwellings with conical roofs that are typical of the region. Savour a light lunch aperitif in a restaurant set inside a trullo, one of our favourite addresses in Alberobello (drinks not included). Overnight in the Alberobello area.
Day 4 – Ostuni – Lecce
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Ostuni, built on three hills and overlooking endless olive groves. The old town reveals its picturesque side through its narrow streets dotted with whitewashed houses and Baroque or Renaissance palaces. Continue on to Lecce. Overnight in the Lecce area.
Day 5 – Otranto – Gallipoli
After breakfast at the hotel, discover the baroque city of Lecce and wander through its maze of narrow streets lined with elegant monuments and refined buildings. Finally, enjoy a full day exploring the charming coastal town of Otranto, with its imposing castle overlooking the sea and its Romanesque cathedral, home to one of the largest floor mosaics in the world. Alternatively, you can head to the lively town of Gallipoli, renowned for its seaside resorts. Overnight in the Lecce area.
Day 6 – Lecce – Bari – France
This is the end of the journey through the magnificent, unspoilt region of Puglia. After breakfast, return the vehicle at Bari Airport and fly back to France.
