Your detailed itinerary
Day 1 – France – Bari – Matera (Basilicata)
Matera, Bari.
After arriving at Bari Airport and collecting the hire car, head to Basilicata, a region renowned for its rich natural landscape and unique cultural heritage. Don't miss the city of Matera, which takes on a mystical air at night. Dinner is not included in the package. Overnight stay in the Matera area.
Day 2 – Matera
Matera.
Breakfast at the hotel. Then, set off on a stroll through Matera to admire the famous 'Sassi', the troglodytic neighbourhoods comprising white buildings stacked on top of one another so that their roofs serve as streets. As you explore the vast network of galleries and cellars carved into the tuff, you’ll discover more of this fascinating city! Dinner is not included. Overnight stay in the Matera area.
Day 3 – Alberobello & Trulli
Alberobello.
Breakfast at the hotel. Then set off for Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an essential stop on any trip to Puglia. Take a stroll through the winding, narrow streets and discover the 'trulli', the region's unique dwellings with conical roofs. Stop for an "aperitivo" at one of our favourite spots in Alberobello. Dinner is not included. Overnight stay in the Alberobello area.
Day 4 - Polignano a Mare Monopoli
Alberobello.
Polignano a Mare, Monopoli.
Breakfast at the hotel. Head towards the coast and make your way to Polignano a Mare. Take in the beautiful panoramic views of houses clinging to the cliffs. Next, enjoy a lovely stroll through the winding, narrow streets, which are steeped in history and open out onto the sea. Not far away in Monopoli, the medieval town centre is well worth a visit, particularly for the beautiful view from the castle. Dinner is not included. Overnight stay in the Alberobello area.
Day 5 – Locorotondo Ostuni
Alberobello.
Locorotondo, Ostuni.
Breakfast at the hotel. The region is renowned for its whitewashed towns, such as Locorotondo and Martina Franca. Be sure to stop off and take a stroll through these charming little villages. Next, continue on to Ostuni, a town built on three hills and overlooking endless olive groves. The old town is enchanting, with narrow streets dotted with white houses and Baroque or Renaissance palaces. Return to the hotel. Dinner is not included. Overnight stay in the Alberobello area.
Day 6 – Bari – France

This marks the end of your journey through the beautiful region of Puglia. Return your vehicle to Bari Airport and then catch your flight to France. Depending on local circumstances, the order of the itinerary may be reversed.
