Canadian citizens must hold a valid passport to enter Kenya. The passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Kenya and must contain at least one blank page.
Canadian nationals are required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) prior to departure. The application must be completed online through the official Kenyan government website. Visas on arrival are no longer issued.
Final admission to Kenyan territory is determined by immigration authorities upon arrival. Travelers may be required to present proof of onward or return travel, accommodation details, and sufficient financial means.
Travelers are strongly advised to review health recommendations prior to departure. Several vaccinations are recommended for travel to Kenya, including yellow fever. A yellow fever vaccination certificate may be required upon entry, particularly if travelers have transited through or originated from a country at risk. Routine vaccinations should be up to date. Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses and repatriation is strongly recommended.
Travelers must comply with Kenyan laws and regulations during their stay. Local laws may differ from those in Canada, and identity checks may be conducted by local authorities.
