Please refer to the information below regarding travel formalities applicable to Canadian nationals travelling to the Sultanate of Oman. Omani authorities require travellers to hold a regular passport in good condition, valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Oman, and containing at least one blank page for entry and exit stamps.
Nationals of Canada are subject to visa requirements to enter Oman. However, Canadian passport holders benefit from a visa exemption for tourist stays of up to 14 days, provided that all entry conditions set by Omani authorities are met. For stays exceeding 14 days, a tourist electronic visa (eVisa) must be obtained prior to departure through the official Royal Oman Police portal. The tourist eVisa generally allows stays of up to 30 days, with possible extensions subject to current regulations. Official information regarding visa categories and application procedures is available at https://evisa.rop.gov.om (https://evisa.rop.gov.om) and through the Royal Oman Police website https://www.rop.gov.om (https://www.rop.gov.om).
Upon arrival, Omani immigration authorities may require travellers to present proof of onward or return travel, evidence of accommodation covering the entire stay, and proof of sufficient financial means. Travellers must comply with immigration controls and be able to present identification documents at any time upon request by local authorities.
No mandatory vaccinations are required for travellers arriving directly from Canada. However, travellers are advised to ensure that routine vaccinations are up to date, including tetanus, diphtheria and polio. Additional vaccinations may be recommended depending on the traveller’s profile. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required only for travellers over one year of age arriving from or transiting through countries where yellow fever is endemic. Official health advice can be consulted via the Government of Canada travel website https://voyage.gc.ca (https://voyage.gc.ca).
All travellers must strictly comply with Omani laws and regulations, including immigration rules, local customs, religious practices, alcohol regulations and identity checks. Failure to comply may result in severe penalties, including fines, detention or deportation.
