It's also the ideal place to enjoy the hot springs and stroll through the open-air art museum for an original nature walk. This is a must if you want to immerse yourself in Japanese culture: try a night in a Ryokan, an authentic Japanese inn, where you can enjoy a moment of Zen and take a dip in one of the many Onsen, the famous hot springs so popular after a day's sightseeing. Note: Make your journey easier by taking advantage of the luggage transfer service. Your luggage will be collected from your Tokyo hotel early in the morning and transferred to your Osaka hotel, meaning you won't have to carry it with you on your journey from Tokyo to Hakone and Hakone to Osaka. A small bag is therefore necessary for your overnight stay in Hakone.

Suggested visits: Stroll through the districts of Umeda, Namba and Shinsaibashi to do your shopping, then head out in the evening to the streets of Dotombori to sample the best local specialities such as kushikatsu or takoyaki, all in a unique atmosphere, surrounded by neon lights and eccentric bars. Suggested sightseeing: Use your Pass to discover Kyoto! Japan's former imperial capital, Kyoto has preserved its cultural treasures for your enjoyment! Begin with a Zen walk through the Arashiyama bamboo grove and Tenryu-ji Temple. Then head to the city centre districts and stroll around Gion, where you might catch a glimpse of a geisha. Next, stop off at the renowned Nishiki market, which is famous for its size and the variety of culinary specialities on offer. No visit to Kyoto would be complete without seeing the magnificent Fushimi Inari Shinto shrine, with its thousands of red torii gates nestled in the forest. Next, take a walk through the southern Higashiyama district to see the famous Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Maruyama-koen Park, and the Chion-in Temple, among others. Further north, be sure to visit Nanzen-ji, a renowned Zen temple. Finish your visit at the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, take Hontsuji-dori Street to Ninna-ji Temple, passing through the Ryoan-ji stone garden along the way.

This 14th-century fortress, also known as the White Heron Castle, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, probably due to its beauty and architectural significance. Complete your visit with a stroll through the unique Koko-en Zen Garden, comprising nine separate gardens laid out using Edo period techniques. Himeji is also renowned for its Bizen pottery. Take the time to visit one of the local workshops to discover this lesser-known craft and pick up an original souvenir of your trip!

All specific requests for sleeping arrangements (double/separate beds) are subject to availability and may incur a supplement.

For technical reasons, hotels may be replaced with similar accommodation, and itineraries may be reversed.

In Japan, hotel rooms are often quite narrow and beds small.

The accommodation included in this tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility.

Check-in is usually in the middle of the afternoon (3 p.m. to 4 p.m.).

Please note that some hotels offer an eco-stay package. (Depending on the hotel, bed linen and room cleaning are carried out approximately every 3 days.)

If the first or last day is shortened due to late arrival or early departure caused by airline schedules, no refund will be given. Similarly, any meals included in the board package that cannot be taken due to these timetables cannot be reimbursed.

Also, depending on the timetable of any optional extras and excursions, any meals that cannot be taken at the hotel will be at the customer's expense.

MEALS

As part of this offer, breakfast is included during the tour, as well as half-board (excluding drinks) for your night in a ryokan in Hakone. All other meals are at your own expense.

Please note that meals in the Ryokan are served very early (from 5 p.m.).

TRANSPORT

Transfer by shuttle bus from the airport to your hotel in Tokyo: The transfer is by shared shuttle bus. It drops you off in front of your hotel and may make several stops along the way.

Luggage allowance: 1 piece of luggage per person included; for additional luggage, please contact us before departure.

Luggage transfer between Tokyo and Osaka: Take advantage of the luggage transfer service to make your journey easier: your luggage will be collected from your hotel in Tokyo early in the morning and transferred to your hotel in Osaka, so that you are not overcrowded during the Tokyo-Hakone and Hakone-Osaka journeys. You'll need to bring a small bag for your overnight stay in Hakone.

Hakone Free Pass : This allows you to travel to Hakone from Tokyo Shinjuku on the Odakyu line. After changing at Odawara, travel to Hakone and use your pass to take the Hakone Tozan buses, the Hakone Tozan cable cars, the Lake Ashi cruise boat and the funicular railway, among others. You'll also benefit from discounts on certain tourist attractions!

Odawara (Hakone) - Kyoto train : In Japan, the train is undoubtedly one of the best ways of getting around quickly and easily. Hakone is around 2 hours from Kyoto, and your Hakone Free Pass will take you first to Odawara station, where you can catch your connecting train to Kyoto. Please note that train timetables will be provided in your travel information booklet.

Kansai Area Pass - 3 days: The Kansai Area Pass gives you unlimited access for 3 days to the various trains of the JR rail system in the Kansai region, as well as to JR buses. It also gives you one-day access to certain Keihan, Hankyu and Kyoto metro lines.

Transfer by shuttle bus from Osaka to Kansai airport (KIX) or Itami airport (ITM ): The transfer is by shared shuttle bus. It drops you off at the airport and may make several stops along the way.

Luggage allowance: 1 piece of luggage per person included; for additional luggage, please contact us before departure. This service is subject to departure from Kansai (KIX) or Itami (ITM) airport. If returning from Kobe airport (UKB), transfers will be at your own expense.

If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.
Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
