ENTRY/STAY FORMALITIES
Visa and K-ETA
For short stays of fewer than 90 days, British nationals do not require a visa.
As part of a plan to boost tourism and celebrate 'Visit Korea Year' (2023-2024), they will also benefit from a temporary K-ETA exemption (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) until 31 December 2025.
Official K-ETA website (https://www.k-eta.go.kr/portal/apply/index.do)
A previously issued K-ETA remains valid until its expiry date.
Warning: some unofficial websites offer the K-ETA at a much higher price than the reference rate, while others issue a false document that does not allow access to South Korea. You must apply for your K-ETA exclusively via the official website 'Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (https://www.k-eta.go.kr/portal/apply/index.do)'.
A valid passport is required for entry into Korea. 6 months of validity after the date of exit from the country is not required.
Before travelling to Korea, you should make sure that your passport is not torn, damaged, or defective in any way, otherwise you may be refused entry by the immigration authorities.
Customs regulations on the import of medicines:
Some medicines commonly prescribed in Europe are not authorised in South Korea. Ask a Korean doctor about sending medicines by post from Europe and consult the customs website (https://www.customs.go.kr/english/main.do).
