Your detailed itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN DELHI
Welcome to Delhi. On arrival, a member of our team will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel.
DAY 2: DISCOVER THE TREASURES OF OLD AND NEW DELHI
The beginning of the adventure.
There's nothing better than starting the experience in New Delhi. The city is divided into two contrasting parts: Old and New Delhi: Old and New Delhi
After breakfast, we'll head first to Old Delhi to discover Asia's largest spice market. From here, we'll take a rickshaw (a kind of tricycle) to the Friday Jama Masjid, also Asia's largest. We'll take advantage of the ride to contemplate Delhi's unique and fantastic chaos.
In the afternoon, we head south to New Delhi. Although this part of the city is decidedly more modern, there are still some exceptional sites that bear witness to the Muslim influence. These include the QutubMinar and Humayun's tomb. We end our visit in the new city designed by the British architect Lutyens, who built the new capital at the beginning of the 20th century.
**Meals included: breakfast **
DAY 3: DELHI TO JAIPUR
The superb "Pink City".
On this, our third day on the sub-continent, we head for Jaipur, nicknamed the "Pink City". It owes its name to the fact that the houses in the town centre are all painted pink. From the moment we arrive, we'll be immersed in the heart of this bustling city, where palaces featuring rajpoute architecture share the pavements with bazaars and makeshift houses. Jaipur is renowned for its textile and gemstone industries. Why not take the opportunity to treat yourself to one of these little gems? In the evening, we'll go to the cinema. Not just any cinema, the Raj Mandir! As well as the exuberant decor with its meringue-like mouldings, you're sure to love the ambience. The show will be performed right there in the auditorium rather than on the screens.
Meals included: breakfast.
DAY 4: VISIT THE WONDERS OF JAIPUR
Jaipur from all angles.
We start the day with a visit to the Amber Fort on the outskirts of Jaipur. After a hearty lunch, we return to the "Pink City" and take time to stop off at the Water Palace and the superb Hawa Mahal for a few photographs.
In the afternoon, we'll visit an unusual site: the Astronomical Observatory, also known as the Jantar Mantar. An expert guide will explain the use of these devices to help us better understand their various functions. We will visit the impressive City Palace, where we will be able to admire a superb collection of antique clothes, accessories, and weapons used in combat in those days.
Meals included: breakfast.
DAY 5: RANTHAMBORE: A SANCTUARY LIKE NO OTHER
We'll enjoy a few more hours in Jaipur before setting off for the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. Why not take the opportunity to take part in a morning yoga session? Ranthambore is located near the town of Madhopur. This is where the Maharaja of Jaipur used to invite his distinguished guests for a tiger hunt. Today, the estate is dedicated to protecting these large cats, as well as other species - many of which are now rare.
A few kilometres from the reserve, we can visit the Ranthambore Fortress, which was conquered several times by the sultans of Delhi in the 14th and 16th centuries.
Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
DAY 6: UNUSUAL JEEP SAFARI IN RANTHAMBORE
On this, our sixth day, we will take part in two jeep safaris, as we attempt to spot tigers amongst the fantastic flora. An expert guide will tell us all about the history of the park and its flora and fauna. An expedition to the heart of the wild that we won't soon forget.
Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
DAY 7: VISIT TO KARAULI
A short tour of Karauli.
This morning you will depart for the former capital of the principality of Karauli. This once glorious city of Rajasthan still has many wonders to discover. We will visit the shimmering temples of Shri Mahavir Ji and Kaila Devi.
In the evening, we'll spend a pleasant evening at the City Palace in Karauli.
Meals included: breakfast.
DAY 8: FROM KARAULI TO AGRA: TEMPLES IN THE SPOTLIGHT
On the way to Agra, we will stop at Fatehpur Sikri, better known as the "dead city". It was built by the great emperor Akbar. We'll discover the beauty of the red sandstone buildings of this fascinating former royal capital.
On arrival in Agra, we will visit the Red Fortress. Its imposing red sandstone ramparts loom above the romantic town. From the top, the view of the Taj Mahal is breathtaking!
Meals included: breakfast.
DAY 9: RETURN TO DELHI TO CATCH YOUR FLIGHT
A magical feeling.
What would India be without the Taj Mahal? We'll experience this extraordinary spectacle as soon as the sun rises. Emperor Shah Jahan had this magnificent white marble mausoleum built out of his love for his late wife. The work required the efforts of more than 22,000 workers over a period of 22 years! Let's take advantage of this magical moment to contemplate this Muslim mausoleum - it's almost as if time stands still. At the end of the day, we'll get back on the road to Delhi.
We'll enjoy a typical dinner before heading to the International Airport to catch the flight to your next destination.
